FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. I'm not sure if my project counts as commercial use or not?

A: If the artwork is used for any profit-related purpose—such as monetized videos, product sales, brand promotion, or commercial events—it is considered commercial use.

Q2. Will I fully own the character or IP after commissioning?

A: You will receive usage rights within the agreed scope (e.g. for social media, merchandise, or videos). However, the copyright remains with the artist.
If you need full ownership of the IP (including copyright), please request a buyout before the commission begins. A buyout involves higher fees and a separate written agreement.

Q3. Can I use the artwork as my profile picture or for personal sharing?

A: Yes! As long as it's for non-commercial use (e.g. personal collection, avatar, or social sharing), you're welcome to use it.
Please do not remove my signature, heavily edit the image, or use it for AI/NFT purposes.

Q4. Can I request changes after it's done?

A: All commission packages include a certain number of free revisions before final delivery (see pricing sheet).
Post-delivery edits are possible and will be quoted based on the complexity of the request.

Q5. What if I want to cancel the commission?

A: Refunds are based on the current stage of progress.

  • After first draft: 80% refund

  • After second review: 30% refund

  • After final delivery: non-refundable
For full policy, please see the “Payment & Refunds” section.

Q6. Will you share the commissioned work publicly? Can I request confidentiality?

A: By default, I may showcase finished work in my portfolio or social media.
If you wish to delay or prevent public display, please let me know in advance. A confidentiality fee may apply depending on the requested duration.

Q7. Why is commercial use more expensive? Isn’t it the same work?

A: Commercial use involves greater responsibility, potential exposure, and licensing value. It often requires higher precision and comes with usage risks. Pricing reflects fair compensation for the scope of use.

Q8. I need the work urgently. Do you offer rush orders?

A: Yes—if my schedule allows, I offer expedited production for an additional fee (typically 30–100% of base price depending on urgency).
Please contact me in advance to confirm availability.

Q9. Can I receive the original source files (e.g. PSD, .ma, .ztl)?

A: Source files are not included by default. If you need them, please request this beforehand. An additional fee (usually starting at +30%) will apply, and license limitations will be specified.

Q10. Can I edit the final artwork myself (e.g. crop, add text, change colors)?

A: Minor edits like cropping or adding text are allowed.
However, please do not repaint, recolor, remove the signature, or use the artwork for AI/NFT purposes. For specific edits, I'm happy to help adjust a version for you.

Q11. Can I sublicense or let someone else use the commissioned work?

A: No. The usage license is granted to you alone and limited to the agreed purpose. Redistribution, resale, or third-party use is not allowed. For collaborations, extended licenses can be discussed.

Q12. Can I commission just a character design without a full illustration?

A: Absolutely. I offer flexible service options. If you only need a concept sketch or base design, simply choose "2D / Basic Character Concept" on the form and indicate your usage type.

Q13. Can I commission just a sketch first, then decide later if I want the full piece?

A: Yes! This is considered a staged commission. I’ll provide a quote for the sketch phase, and if you decide to proceed, we’ll arrange the final phase and remaining payment accordingly.
