Hello, I'm Kevin Lin, and a-quiet-studio is my one-person studio in the UK.
This page explains what personal information I collect through this website, why, and what you can do about it.

a-quiet-studio is run by Kevin Lin, a sole trader based in the UK.

What I collect

  • Your email address, if you sign up for the opening note or newsletter

  • Your name, email and message, if you contact me

  • Your name, delivery address, email and order details, if you buy something from the shop

  • Basic information about how people use this website (such as pages visited), collected by Squarespace through cookies

Why I use it

  • Newsletter: to send you the shop opening note and occasional updates. I only do this because you asked me to (your consent).
    You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.

  • Messages: to reply to you.

  • Orders: to process, send and support your order, and to keep the records UK law requires.

  • Website information: to keep the site working and understand how it's used.

  • Who I share it with

  • I never sell your information. I only share it with services I need to run the studio: Squarespace, which hosts this website and sends my emails

  • Payment providers (such as Stripe or PayPal), if you place an order

  • Delivery services, so your parcel can reach you

    Some of these services may store data outside the UK. When they do, they use legal safeguards to protect it.

How long I keep it

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe

  • Messages: for as long as needed to help you

  • Orders: for as long as UK tax law requires (currently around six years)

Your rights

You can ask me to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you, or to stop using it. Just email me at contact.aquietstudio@gmail.com.

If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
